Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Plano, TX and have lived there all my life.
What high school did you attend?
I graduated from Plano West Senior High School in 2019.
What was your favorite extracurricular activity in high school?
Definitely art. I took AP art every year and was an officer of NAHS and Art Club. I spent most of my lunches and afternoons in the art room oil painting or printmaking.
Why did you come to UT?
The UTCS program is great and I loved Austin. Plus, in state tuition is nice.
Why are you in this class?
I’ve heard countless times from my brother and others that OOP and SWE are some of the best and most applicable classes here at UTCS.
What are your expectations of this class?
To learn a lot and hopefully get a little closer to figuring out what areas of CS interest me and what I want to do with my life.
How much C++ do you already know?
None :)
How did you feel about the cold calling?
Honestly, it’s great. In the CS314 class I TA for, I have a “Wheel of Names” for cold calling and the students love the thrill of it.
What made you happy this week?
I went to Target and got a cute Valentine’s themed apron. And hopefully I’ll bake a cake this weekend!
What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
If you are ever trying to melt chocolate, don’t microwave it. Melt it slowly over a double boiler (small pot of boiling water + glass bowl of chocolate).
